Education
When it comes to educational visits, Cob House offers bespoke packages that meet the individual needs of a wide range of schools accommodating children of all ages and abilities.
We can offer packages tailored to respond to certain aspects of the school curriculum to suit the individual needs of the children and the school budget.
Packages can be built around the following topics:
- Woodland Management and furniture Making
- Horticultural – “Grow your own”
- Worm Farming and Composting
- Angling and the Environment
- Animal Husbandry
- Pond Dipping
- Fish Farming
- Land and Estate Management
- Archery
We offer work experience placements to many students free of charge but in some cases charges will apply.
Educational establishments that have 6th form students, for example, that feel they may benefit from a ‘half way house’ to help with the transition between school and entering the world of employment, we can offer and guide them through an introductory programme to allow them to experience vital life skills working in departments around the site.
At Cob House we have various construction opportunities around the site and a programme of continuous tree planting (you can never have enough trees!). If you are interested in taking advantage of some of these activities, please call us and we will be pleased to help. It’s great pursuit for children and young people who may be considering careers in woodland management or arboriculture. We are open all year to the public which means our enthusiastic tree planters can show friends and family the results of their hard work.
